How do I dance in a club?

As a guy, I've been to a couple of clubs but most of the time it's just the girls dancing and the occasional creeper who pops in and starts grinding, only to be left alone after the song is over.

Besides just going with the flow, what are some basic moves I could string together on the dance floor? I've heard all it takes is confidence but I'd be a lot more confident if I had a better idea of what I was doing.

How do I dance in a club?
Don't let your elbows out, keep them close to your side. It helps keep you looking less retarded.

Or take a hip hop or break dancing class, since that style of dance is more acceptable for males.

Really the most important thing is to dance on beat with the music, and don't overdo your movements. But if you don't care how you look, just dance how you feel you want to and have fun. :)
Reply:Well I went to the club and basically danced with every single hot girl there. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure my confidence (and dancing skill?) came from the alcohol I had consumed. Report It
Reply:Good question, I think generally speaking guys find it harder to dance in a club and generally look better if they don't go crazy, but keep movements small - see Hitch - Will Smith teaching 'Albert Brennaman' screen name.

Girls on the other hand seem to be a natural at it.
Reply:It really depends on the type of music.

I always preferred rave clubs for dancing - the beat is simple to follow, and you can just kind of jump around and do whatever you want. (Plus you can dress like a freak).

Most dance clubs suck really badly - unless they have a decent DJ. Anyplace that plays top40 crap is a waste of time to even go into if you are wanting to have a good time dancing.

You can look like a real dork attempting to dance, but as long as everyone is doing it - you can kind of watch other people, or just do your own thing. It can be a lot of fun - again, it mostly depends on what kind of music they are playing (and what kind of music you like).

I got out of clubbing a while ago - but I still go out to see bands play. I've seen the Melvins and the Reverend Horton Heat recently - both shows were in a small club, and the crowds were psychotic. I always jump right into the pit and start slamming around. I had some guy nearly knock his front teeth out on the back of my head at the last show.
Reply:Shake that *** ***** %26amp; let me see what you've got! Dance with a ugly or fat girl for practice. It'll build your confidence 2. Lean back brotha!
Reply:In a club? You could bend back and then spin and then....you just kinda start grooving. It's great when guys start to dance.
Reply:Assuming they're not doing hip hop, I have some advice that'll sound stupid. Take ballroom lessons. No, you won't be doing a waltz at a club, but the Latin dances will teach you some moves that translate pretty well, and the connection and lead you learn will make you a sought-after dance partner in the clubs. Plus you'll have the confidence that professional training an experience can impart.
Reply:dont do a lot. just sway from side to side. let the girls do the dancinggggg XD
Reply:the same way everyone else does when they go out clubbing. If is a Salsa Club, you dance Salsa and Merengue. Do not do the Vogue %26amp; act like Madonna OK!. They don't that anymore!!!!
