i think its supposed to be a seraphim a serpentine angel with supernatural streangth, lucifer was a seraphim.

That probably is what the filmmakers had in mind. It would explain a lot of the events that happened. It's weird that he wanted to collect body parts.

Reply:Who knows for sure? But, I think it is one of the scariest creatures ever created for a Sci-Fi Horror flick. It's whole purpose is to seize the best human parts it can find and regenerate itself with those parts. The victim's are helpless because they don't understand what it is, nor it's vulnerabilities. That's the point of the two films. Movie 2, though, does have some resolution and also leaves it open for a sequel.
