Most of my friends are older than me like in their 20's, all around. It's not a creeper thing I work with these people and some of the guys have become such good friends. Well I'm 16, 17 soon ((they're youngest friend)) but they're very overprotective, it's sweet and all because they don't want me to get into anymore trouble, I had a runin with the law and now am on probation and trying my hardest to make everything better ((no lectures please)). They don't like to have certain types of conversations around me and don't really want me to come over to drink and what not because I'll drink every once in a while, but not even like once every month. I can understand that because they don't want to get in trouble for drinking with a minor but it's the whole they act like a parent sometimes and I want them to treat me more like they treat all their other chick friends, how do I talk to them about this?
Older friends?
If anyone starts to say that they only want sex, then that is so not true. Basically all my guy friends are older I was 15 yesterday and they are all like 17-22, and have never tried anything! They are protective of me but they still let me go out with them and stuff...they just don't want to get arrested or something. They are your friends and you want to hang out with them, so just tell them how you feel and see if you can come to an understanding.
Reply:Your older friends are being responsible and sensible. Learn from them. If you are caught drinking and are on probation, what will happen to you? Think about it. If they are caught with you drinking with them, what will happen to them? Think about it. You don't want to cause them harm any more than they want to cause you harm. They know it's against the law for you to drink with them, so don't even try to go there with them for the harm it could cause them. Be considerate and responsible. Learn from your mistakes and grow from them. Try harder than you are currently trying to be mature and responsible. I know you can succeed in life, but you have to really work at it. It's not easy growing up and having to make the tough choices, but you will and you'll be so proud of yourself!! Do what's right and proper and you'll be just great!
