What's the scariest insect that you have ever seen?

when i was in majorca a few years ago there was this long centipide thing about 5cm long with lots of long legs (each the length of a spiders leg but about 100 of them) and it had long antennae and pincer things at the bottom. oh it was like something out of a horror film (albeit a low budget mini monster film that wouldn't actually look very scary compared to the likes of freddy and jeepers creepers etc!)!!!

What's the scariest insect that you have ever seen?
a tarantula wasp--huge and ugly, cicada's with huge bulging eyes. Tarantula's, thing about the size of my index finger nail, it was redorange and fuzzy like a bee but had black legs and a black head with huge biters.

Someone put it in a jar with a lid on it and about 2 weeks later I found it, put a pencil in the jar and it bit it. Almost any spider is on my list of mean and ugly.
Reply:Centipede's do scare me too!! But, I have not seen but, a baby one, years ago, outside!! Thank-God!! However, my Ex-husband %26amp; I both had a couple of incodent's happen to us, once we were cleaning off our back porch,, and he raised up our back patio table, and underneath it was thee hugest turantulla!! A big huge Black one, and he 'Yelled'!! But, I was vacuuming, and he kept going around me, to keep going back in %26amp; out of the back porch!! And next thing I know after I turned off the vaccum, he says to me"Look honey, Look what I found!!" And he open's up one my my tupperware container's and I'm all happy to see what he'd found, and when I looked inside it, I just about "Jumped out of my skin, and yelled at him to please remove it from the house!!" He wanted to keep it as a pet!!! NOT!!! I finally talked him into taking it back out into the desert.... On another occasion I went to leave to run errands, and as soon as I went to open my front door there was a long silver snake, sitting right on my door mat!! KID YOU NOT!!! So we got the neighborhood boys to take it and put it the desert!! Thank-God!! My biggest fear however of spiders, are "Black widow's"!! Great Question!! Smile!!!

Reply:Could it fly? i think i saw one of thoses in spain! it was horrid...massive.
Reply:An insect called a mole cricket. It lives in the ground, emerges at night and flies. It's horrible and hideous. I know they exist in South Carolina.
Reply:Well I have seen black widow spiders, giant tarantulas, giant walking sticks, scorpions, etc.



But the scariest one I have seen is the bullet ant. An inch long ant that can sting hard enough that it is said it feels like a 22 bullet! Not much messes with them!
