Are there any Films where the sequel was better than the first?

I watched Jeepers Creepers 2 the other night and although I think they are c#*p I thought the 2nd was slightly better.

Are there any Films where the sequel was better than the first?
Did you ever see Lord of the rings?....you probably have.

Two towers I think (critics too) is better then the first one, probably because of the mighty battle scene and the done costumes and effects.....oh and don't forget the castles!

Reply:die hard 3 is the best and so is beverley hills cop 2 so there better that the first ones. and if you have ever seen the whole nine yards watch the whole ten yards because it is just one of the funniest films in the world
Reply:Star Wars. I think episodes 5 and 6 were better then 4, but 1, 2, and 3 were dissapointing.

Reply:Thank you for stating that. Producers want to remake movie so they can get more money . They do it because kids now in days lowered their standards and they use the same techniques in all new movies cause it works on the kids. But i look into underground movies and independent movies.

or how about rocky 3, terminator 2, godfather 2, toystory 2, harry potter and the prisoner of azkaban, x-men 2, batman begins, super man2, spider man 2....hmmm guess these are just some of the sequels which performed better!

Reply:Maybe some of the "Indiana Jones", "Mission Impossible", "Harry Potter", or "Star Wars"...I've never seen any of these movies though, so I don't have an opinion on that...that's just what I hear.



That's why I never watch sequels :) They just make me mad.

Reply:Much to my surprise I enjoyed " The Italian Job 2 " but I am not sure if it counts as a sequel or a remake.

Oh Terminator 2, still love it. Mind you the amount of money thrown at it compared to the original if it had not be better then Arnie might not be Governor of California, there is always a downside isn't there.

**Edit: I forgot about Empire! Also Lord of the rings. But I'm not sure either qualifies, because without the setup of the first, the others wouldnt have been able to be any good. Its like it was part of the art.

Yeah I quite like the FINAL DESTINATION films. Think the first one was good. The second better and the third best. Think they made them more gory.



Aslo the third NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET - DREAM WARRIORS. Its my favourite
