Are there any out there? A fun but WELL WRITTEN! slasher novel? Something kind of like the movie Jeepers Creepers or Nightmare on Elm street? Suggestions?

My son loves Dean Koontz. Try Mr. Murder by Dean Koontz also an oldie but goodie is Lawrence Sanders he used to write some pretty gory stuff,
