Doing up my garden...?
Clematus and passion flower are good climbers with lovely flowers (quite stunning when they bloom as there are so many flowers) , i have these growing together, they have intertwined - the clematus blooms in may and the passion flower blooms in Auguts (you can get different types of celmatus pink/white which flower in different months. I am a novice gardener and these were planted by the previous owner of my house and dont seem to need much attention, i just cut off the dead bits when they go brown and twiggy. Easy!
Reply:Bamboo's are lovely low maintenance plants, they rustle in the wind and keep out noise. Clematis are good strong climbers, there are evergreen ones. Ivy is also great for all year colour.
Reply:all garden stores and landscapers have someone on staff who could advise you. Or, call some place like burpee.com and ask all your questions. No one can advise you without knowing which part of the country you live in (which zone for growing).
Reply:they have evergreens like cedars and spruce that are low growing. you could also try an albert spruce tree, they only grow about 4-5 feet tall. they are good to put at the corners of the garden. if you want low maintenance i will tell you not to do ivy, because it will just keep growing and growing. you could also plant some day-lillies (they usually dont need any taking care of) some tall grasses for the back of the garden, maybe a rhodedendron. good luck. I have indoor plants only, but i love gardening... i cant garden anything b/c i dont own the property yet.
Reply:cover all soil areas with polythene and stones...then go to garden centre once a month and buy a plant (or plants)you like that are in flower..slit the polythene and plant it.or them.In 12 months you should have a garden that has something in flower every month...It worked for me...
Reply:Delphiums(long lasting little maintainance)

Pinks, Cuphea(little mouse faces)

use a little herbs in between looks and smells nice.ie: rosemary.thyme.chervil/chives and bay leaf, and if you like it lavender
Reply:. . . ornamental shrubs: many evergreens to choose from and don't forget the holly (looks good all year round and particularly useful at Christmas); ground covering plants - ask at your garden centre - big choice, multi-colour, perennial and saves on weeding.

As to a few 'creepers' - just take a look around this site . . .
