Why are rooms that have the tube on always blue from the outside?

i'm not a creeper, but i just notice it whenever i'm outside somewhere!

Why are rooms that have the tube on always blue from the outside?
That has always creeps me out, like if the TV is some sort of killing machine taking over our minds, I mean why blue, it isn't like every station is blue, you know?
