What's your take on this?

It's very true that there have been cases where teachers have took sextual advantages over their students. However in this case I know someone in the states who is secretely dating one of her teachers. Thing is, both teacher and student told the parents before hand, and like the teacher lots. Yes, they were shocked at first, but they were glad that their daughter and teacher were honest. He doesn't mark her any different, and she never did seem to fit in with people her own age. (17). I'm glad for her because they actually have lots in common, it's just such a shame how people would view him as a creeper if they were caught. They are very careful, mind you, and quite often the daughters parents will go places with them so it doesn't look like what it is, even though we know it is.

What's your take on this?
I think someone like him is putting a lot on the line, because if he gets caught he would lose his job and go to jail. I honestly don't think anyone who is sane would risk all of that.

Reply:i wonder if it would be such a big deal if he were anything other than a teacher? if he was just, say, a mechanic, or a cab driver or something, people would just be like 'whatever' but since he is a teacher, people make a big fuss over it because they assume he (or she in most cases) is a big dirty pedophile and wants to rape all the kids in school. they should cool it though till she's 18, unless he wants to get busted for statuatory rape.
Reply:i think that its fine as long as no one gets in trouble. is he way older than her? if so then its not all that great bc he could be charged for rape but if he is in his early 20's i think thats pretty normal. good luck to the both of them.
Reply:as honest and careful as they are, its still illegal. they should just wait a year for her to graduate then pick up where they left off cuz they can both get into a lot of trouble for it. if they really like each other theyd wait instead of risking everything.
Reply:I personally think it's creepy. A teacher is in a place of power and it's not right have a relationship with a student. No matter how good they seem together. It just doesn't seem right to me.
Reply:What I want to know is where were all of these oversexed teachers when I was a kid. I would have loved for a hot teacher to take advantage of me.
Reply:Whatever. I don't care. What they do is what they do, and they have her parents' permission, so more power to them.
Reply:well i dont know how old the teacher is so i really cant put much input into my opinion, i think the teacher needs to really think about what he is doing and be smart with her i guess..
Reply:How old is the teacher??? and it seems like they care about each other but unfourtunatly it is illegal maybe they should just wait till she graduates from highschool....
Reply:Well, It's illegal. I agree that they should wait until she is of age. I mean are they sleeping together? If so and the parents know about it....its wrong on their par too. I just don't agree with it. if she were 18 it would be different. And on top of that....one or both of them is probably going to get tired of having to date in secret. Its going to strain their relationship
Reply:o well you can't help who you love and she's 17 if the parents are okay with it then its really nobody else's business. if anyone in the school like teacher's and stuff found out he might lose his job.
