My front yard is on a steep hill, and parts of it are exposed to direct sun. Since it's very hard and dangerous to cut the grass because of the steep hill, I would like to replace the grass with something else... something that stays green year round. Preferably something that blooms, as I would like to blanket my yard with tiny flowers. I'm looking for ideas other than ivy. Blue Star Creeper sounds nice, so similar suggestions are especially welcome.

Thank you :)
Can you help me? What is a good ground covering that stays green all year (other than ivy)?

Reply:Crownvetch is a spreading, hardy perennial that highway departments use to cover hillsides. It blooms with a pink flower. Here is a link with some info:

Reply:Dutch white clover is nice, but doesn't stay green in the winter. Has little white blooms.
