It's tan and brown, about 2 inches long. It has many long legs, but not as many as a centipede. It's got 2 antenas I think. It moves fairly quickly. I was in the bathroom this morning when all of a sudden this creeper comes out and rushes under my cat's litter box. I yelled for my dad who came down and killed it. I've seen 3 of these disgusting creatures in my house. What are they? I live in CT near the shoreline, so is it even from here? I downloaded a picture I drew of it too.

HELP!
Please Help! There's this disgusting bug I've seen in my house a few times! Can you tell me what it is?
I'd guess a house centipede; does it look like this?

They are common in houses, especially in wetter areas like bathrooms and sinks. They actually eat other insect pests, so they're probably doing you more good than harm. Leave them alone and they won't bother you; they won't randomly come up and bite you or anything.
Reply:It looks like either a centipede or a millipede. Is its body more rounded in shape than a centipede? In that case it's a millipede.
They do no harm, but I can imagine you don't like the looks of them.
They tend to gather near decaying plant matter. Remove it from the vicinity of your house, and that should clear or severely reduce their numbers.
Reply:Sweety its a centipede. They are very fast and they like water or wet areas, hence the bathroom. A milipede is much bigger and black...centi=100 mili=1,000,000. They wont hurt you either. But they do make a mess when you smush em!
Reply:it looks like a tropical centipede. they are found in the southern states.
Reply:a centipede or millipede...*count its feet*
Reply:If you want to keep them out
